Ruka thrives on being surrounded by people. He cannot stand being alone, loves attention, and loves to be loved. He's a fun-loving, cheerful boy, who refuses to think about what may be "sad". He denies the existance of unhappiness, living his life the way he wants it to be -- joyfully.

Ruka also helps people alot, but it isn't because he's selfless -- it's because he likes the feeling of people depending on him, and needing him.

Ruka was pampered from young for his parents were extremely rich. He was brought up thinking one thing: that money could buy anything, including love. The more his parents showered him with toys and riches, the more he thought they loved him.

When they both passed away in a plane crash, he saw his relatives fighting over him fruitlessly, all because they wanted a chance at his inheritance. It occured to him that all these relatives, who were once extremely nice to him, were now barely looking at him beyond his money. However, Ruka was put into an orphanage, on his parent's last wishes, for they had foreseen such a situation, and Ruka couldn't have been more thankful for the idea.

Ruka was the envy of his classmates, for he was rich. But there was no room for jealousy, for Ruka was kind to everyone he met, never once scrooging on his money. Although he still clinged to the idea the money could buy love, the idea was warped in his mind after having seen how ugly his relatives had looked. Instead of paying people to be his friends, like what he had thought he could do, he bought people gifts, and helped out where he could financially. This of course, made him extremely well-liked..
